Bagru originated the tradition of printing, is not only popular in India, but even being a small village custom, the Bagru print is known worldwide. The wooden prints of Bagru have entitled its own name as Bagru prints. The wooden prints involve the technique of carving the print (or design) on the wooden block first, and then enriching the design involving the chosen colour to the fabric. ‘chhipas’ are known as the textile printers of Bagru. The quarter is officiated with the printers only committing artistic traditions with wooden blocks and dyes.
Bagru prints are more popular of being environment friendly.still today artists uses conventional vegetable dyes for printing the cloth.The colour blue is prepared from indigo,red from madder root,green from indigo and pomegranate and yellow from turmeric.The excellence of this craft has made this small village near jaipur a much- reckoned name in international fashion.Bagru prints are done on black,brown ,beige and red backgrounds.for the purpose of creating motifs printers use natural products like neem ,chilli,rose petals and dhaniya ki bel.Traditionally Bagru motifs are bold and more Geometrical in nature.Hence Bagru prints are unique,captivating,and exotic.
